I DO NOT LIKE MODI, BUT I HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO VOTE FOR HIM

Namo, Namo, Namo.
The chant vibrates across the nation at an increasing fanatical pace. So much expectations and hope linked to one name. Even Advani had to admit that, after a name was announced PM namocandidate things changed. In the last 30 years such a swing is has not been seen.
So is it all going to be hunky dory?
I want to make a confession – I am terrified of Narendra Modi, but I have no option but to vote for him.
The game has begun, and read the following lines from Bloomberg, which tells the magnitude of the task ahead. “About 815 million voters, roughly the populations of the U.S. and European Union combined, are eligible to cast ballots in nine rounds of voting over the next five weeks to pick 543 lawmakers. Results will be known on May 16 in the nation of 1.2 billion people, where some two-thirds live on about $2 per day.”
Recently I was asked a question when I said i want my leader to communicate. The response “Does he talk to you or does he talk down to you?” The lady had a point.
So should I be worried? The answer is Yes.
Reason future uncertain. Are we charting our paths or is theNWO taking control?
Reason 1 – Debt – Growth by Debt is no Growth (after a limit):
In 2012-13 the debt in Gujrat Rs.1, 36,367 crore, with Rs.1278 crores in interest payment. Recent reports suggest that Rs.34,000 crores was the increase in debt in last 3 years in the state; with the figure standing at Rs.1,85,310 crores (Mar 2014). This means that per head each resident of Gujrat state has Rs2000 of debt with 10% of it as interest. It does not stop here, by 2015-16 as per Gujrat government budget the debt will be Rs.2, 07,695.
Now I have nothing against deficit spending as described in Keynesian economics, but deficit spending is often used when to moderate or end a recession.
As per wiki: “When the economy has high unemployment, an increase in government purchases creates a market for business output, creating income and encouraging increases in consumer spending, which creates further increases in the demand for business output. (This is the multiplier effect). This raises the real gross domestic product (GDP) and the employment of labour, and if all else is constant, lowers the unemployment rate.”
So are we going to more heavy in debt as a nation now?
Both Congress and BJP manifestos speak of building new cities. In the (delayed) BJP manifesto they speak of building 100 Cities – Hi-tech cities. OK. Good, but do we need them? Will these cities turn to ghost citighost citieses? Read the story of China ghost cities. And also of Kilamba, in Africa where China built a city. In all places one thing common – there are few people who live in these cities.
And to build these cities – more debt for roads and other activities.
Reason 2 – Witch Hunts and Freedom of Speech:
We have heard the news of Ram Senna and other fringe groups. Fringe exists in all places, communities and religion. AAP’s Swaraj concept could mean these fringe group have enough rights to take over a community. There will be attempts by fringe group to flex their muscle, but if freedom of speech is taken away and sedition charges are put, then it is a concern. Some time back the Ahmedabad police filed a case of sedition against the resident editor, a reporter of ToI and another photographer of another newspaper. The reason – the paper carried a story criticizing the Police Commissioner. By this logic, all the jokes I made of our silent PM, MMS and Mr. Rahul Baba I will be viable of sedition charges? Will Cyrus show be banned? Hope we do not become the Hamid Gul’s.
And yesterday I heard, that if anyone is against NaMo then I need to go to Pakistan. I have a better solution, those who do not agree to uniform civil code, let them leave the country.
Reason 3 – Data Collection:
I was against biometrics and Adhar (An article will come around this is CD-1984 Section). I hope the government does take up the analytics on citizen data that is collected through projects, as in the BJP manifesto the following is there: “Set an institute of Big data and Analytics for studying the impact of big data across sectors for predictive science.”
Other facts:
  • In 10 years 60,000 small scale industries have been closed down. (Source: Director, Department of Economics and Statistics, Government of Gujarat.2011-12)
  • Health expenditure by Gujarat fallen down from 4.25% in 1990-95 to 0.77% in 2005-2010. Gujarat occupied second position from bottom in terms of allocation of health in state budget
  • Health expenditure by Gujarat fallen down from 4.25% in 1990-95 to 0.77% in 2005-2010. Gujarat occupied second position from bottom in terms of allocation of health in state budget.
  • The Deputy Speaker’s post is left vacant by the Gujarat Government for a decade. (As per article 178 of Indian constitution, it is compulsory)
  • Modi carried over 15 portfolios, but there are cases where he does not answer questions in the house and his deputies carries the needful. I expect MMS to speak when questioned, and I expect Modi to speak when he is PM.
  • Do google around: Bharatiya Kisan Sangh. and Jetha Bhai Patel – electricity bill issue
  • The sarcasm in his voice during speeches
  • And the 2002 riots – I still feel he could have done more!
This terrifies me. But from 2002 to 2014, why the change and the vote. The following issues and messages has resonated with me.
  • Nationalism: The country is important, and we need to have strong long term strategic road map, otherwise the Dragon will gnaw the Tiger. And I do not need a lesson in Bhartiyata from you know who!
  • Black Money & Anti-Corruption: Take no favors and give no favor. Yes am disappointed with Yedurappa and Reddy brothers issue – but hope he ensures closure on all issues
  • Taking Decisive Decisions
And the biggest thing – TINA factor – There Is No Alternative.
Give Mr. Modi a chance. I do still believe our democracy and institutions are strong enough to withstand the concerns by various groups. And the people will not let the secular and pluralistic fabric of the country go away.
Jai Hind!
